The Wiring and Operation of a Reverse Section
For a reverse section layout it is necessary to wire the system so that the flow of the electric current on the main line can be reversed with the flick of a switch. The KATO Deluxe Power Pack has two directional switches that can be connected to each section line.

The following is an example of how the reverse loop would be operated: For our example, let us assume that the train is on the main line heading in a clockwise direction. Set the throw switches so that the turnouts will cause the train to enter the reverse loop. Once the train has completely entered the reverse loop, change (reverse) the direction of the main line and use the throw switch to put the turnout back in the main line position. Your train will return to the main line running in a counter clockwise direction.
The reverse operation is done with a standard power pack. As shown in the illustration, separate the wiring with the Three Way Connector and connect one reverse switch to the main line, as well as a second reverse switch to the reverse loop line. Instead of using the Power Pack's directional switch, use the two reverse switches to change (reverse) the flow of the electrical current.
