Installation-Instruction for KATO UNITRACK Scale N

(outside the road bed)

For maintenance reasons it can be a advantage, not install the decoder into the road bed of the turnout.

Connection:

1. Remove the wall plug of the black-red turnout-wall-cable and open the cable ends for soldering.
2. Disconnect the UniJoiner of the turnout and the next track and then to change the UniJoiner  to the connection cable. Remove the clip of the connection cable and then open the cable ends for soldering.
3. Solder now the red cable of the turnout with the orange cable of the decoder and the black cable of the turnout with the grey cable of the decoder.
4. Solder the red cable of the decoder with the cable of the UniJoiner for the left track and the black cable of the decoder with the cable of the second UniJoiner for the right track.
5. The yellow cable of the decoder serves the programming of the component.
6. Proceed for this as in each case under point 4 of the appropriate turnout descriptive.

We recommend to make the connection outside of the road bed under the construction, so that the decoders out-arrange with a later the construction don't disturb. Leads can be extended for this purpose at will.
