Installation-Instruction for KATO UNITRACK Scale N

(inside the road bed)


WARNING:
Use for soldering corresponding tools. Important is a finer soldering rod. If you should have still little experience in handling soldering, we recommend to make you the installation outside of the road bed.


ATTENTION:
The soldering rod is hot. Burn danger. While inappropriate handling, the plastic track bedding can take damage.

  1. Remove the silver cover plate at the ground of the turnout and remove the red and black connecting lead of the turnout, which are soldered on the points "C" and "D". If you would like to accommodate the decoder cleanly in the bedding body, then you remove a part of the plastic bar on the undersurface ot the turnout: in the illustration Fig.2-1 black with "Cut off" marked.
  2. Solder the red cable of the decoder to the point  " A" and the black cable of the decoder to the point " B".
  3. Solder the orange cable to the point "C" and the grey cable to the point "D". Please control here, if the fine wires of the magnet coil still firmly on the points "C" and "D" together with the wires of the decoder are soldered.
  4. Bore now at the point " E" a hole into the road bed (approx. 1 to 2mm) and you solder  the yellow cable at the soldering lug. Fasten afterwards the soldering lug with aid of a small screw. Then they put the small screw into the pre-drilled hole. The ideal length ot the screw is 3mm. The screw head is on up side of the turnout. The screw head shouldn't affect other metal parts for example rails.
  5. Connect the two with "F" characterized points with the a part of the blue wire. Proceed in accordance with "G" characterized point exactly the same.
  6. Isolate now the metallic plate onesided at the range the blank with a piece electrical tape.
  7. To freeze the paving tiles with the screws.
